PSI_V and H.264

Hi,
while surfing on the net I found this new codec that according to what they say can have much better performance than h264.
I just would like to ask if anyone else ever tried that.
I checked some sample on the following site but I wasn't particularly amazed.

never heard of them, but the samples do not impress and without at least a demo encoder it does not look to interesting,..

VSS H.264 is a bit poor in quality...
however, i wonder why they didnt compare against better commercial or even free h.264 solutions.
