Downmix multichannel to stereo (AC3Filter)

How can i downmix multichannel audio (5.1) to 2.0 stereo with AC3Filter? I don't get any advance of 5.1 audio, cause i only have 2 speakers and sound seems to be better with movies that has stereo audio. My computer is connecter to my A/V receiver (PLII) via digital optical connection.

I mean, that 5.1 audio track would be changed into a 2.0 track, before it reaches my receiver. Is it even possible without audio re-encoding?

yes thats very easy.

got to Start->Ac3filter --> Ac3filter Config.

directly on the mainpage in left top corner you will see "Output format".

there you can choose what you want or need.
