Hi all
Iīm looking for a 250 gig hard drive to fit in my portable media player. Seagate doesīnt seem to be in the picture with 2.5 HDs .
Is one of these brands better/more reliable than the other?
I havīnt had much experience with 2.5 inch drives.

I've not had much experience with Toshiba HDD's but i have owned many Samsung's (my current 500gb sata is a samsung) and have no complaints at all... hdd's are all pretty good these day's they can't afford not to be, if a manufacturer gets a rep as a bad hdd maker then it's pretty much over for them in the hdd market.

Seagate definitely has 2.5" drives both IDE and SATA (http://www.ebuyer.com/search/?strSearch=&bolShowAll=true&intStoreID=2&intCatID=4&intMfrID=11&bolShowAll=true).
As for which one to get- I'd go for Seagate as most of their retail and OEM retail) HDs come with 5 years warranty. Whatever you buy make sure it is reliable.
Another thing you should note is the power consumption- if you're going to use it on a laptop (or anything else) and you need to use it during travel then make sure you get one that consumes less power. But still, IMO, HD legevity is far more important than battery life

I have a Toshiba 320GB HDD in my laptop and it's noticably louder than the Hitachi 80GB that I had previously. Just for the record. ;)

Thanks for the feedback
I picked up the Toshiba 250g . I had no idea they were that small.
It runs a bit warm, but then again I think most externals do.
For anyone who likes toys , this is the media player case it went in to.
