Nero 8 Not Saving "No Pause Between Tracks"

I'm having a persistent problem with burning Audio CDs in Nero 8.

Despite going to the Compilation Properties menu and selecting "No pause between tracks", the next time I open a compilation to burn off a few dozen copies of a title for a client, the CDs are coming out with 2-second pauses between tracks. This is unacceptable with Classical music, as the movements flow into one another and having the music interrupted by 2-second mute is not acceptable under any circumstances.

I find that I can set this flag just prior to burning and it will honor it, but after I save and close and reopen the comp later, the flag is un-set and the CDs burn with pre-gaps again.

I've also tried setting the gap to 0 seconds for each track, but I find that after the burn, it reverts to 2 seconds and the burned CD also has 2 second gaps.

There must be some way to make these flags sticky!

The default/norm is to have a gap between tracks. If you don't want to have these gaps on the CD you are presently burning, as a (logical) safety precaution, you have to choose not to have the gaps for the CD you are presently burning...

I understand, but why can't Nero save the particulars of a specific comp within the comp, so the operator doesn't have to be a rocket scientist to fill and order for a particular audio CD?

A couple years back, Nero had the same problem with Volume Labels on DVDs. In version 6.x, one would have to retype the volume label for every DVD video. They finally fixed that in version 8 so that when one opens the comp, the volume label is stored correctly.

It would seem that the specifics of the job SHOULD be stored with the comp, but perhaps maybe I'm not doing it right?

Assuming you've updated to the latest release online (which usually introduces as many new bugs as it fixes) and it's still broken, you'll probably just have to contact Nero about getting it fixed in a future release.

I'm still using 7, so I can't really help except to say that's how 7 is as well.

Contacting Nero might not be a bad idea anyway; you just might find that they can give you information that others of us aren't aware of.
