Upload FLV video to YouTube

Hello all,

I have a question regarding FLV files: I downloaded an online stream from a website, resulting in a FLV video file. Now I wonder how I should proceed if I want to upload this video to YouTube. As far as I know, YouTube creates FLV files itself; however I can't upload it as a FLV file.
Do I have to first convert my FLV file to AVI? If so, which program should I use?
Also, I would like to cut the video before I upload it. Which program could I use for this? Should I cut before I convert to AVI?

Looks like you need to read the forum rules (rule 6). Unless you can show that your source is legit, we won't help you.

It is a broadcast of a music performance in which I participated in actively, I hope this is explanation enough.
I would be extremely grateful if someone helped me.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions, but the program states "This codec is not detected" with my FLV files. Would you have any other ideas?

2) Were these files also the result of downloading a broadcast of a music performance in which you participated in actively, from the same website as the one you initially referred to? If so, you likely used the same codecs for all of them...

Yes, I have the FLV files all from the same source. Is there a way I could find out which codec was used?

I'm sorry, but when you said "I have a question regarding FLV files: I downloaded an online stream from a website, resulting in a FLV video file.", I took that to mean you created FLVs from the downloaded files - in which case you would certainly know what codec(s) you used.

Since you appear in all of the videos you downloaded, you could probably email the webmaster and simply ask what codec(s) was/were used...
