View Full Version : Good MP3 bitrate for low-fi PCM?

I've an old DivX file, with the audio track in PCM format. The track is identified as:

audio: uncompressed PCM (mono, 11025 Hz)

I wonder what would be a good bitrate to encode it as MP3, using LAME, so that I don't waste disk space (too high bitrate), but I don't lose any quality either (I know, the quality is already low, but I don't want to make it even lower than that).

I think I'll start the experiments at 112 kbps, but if anyone has a better idea, please let me know.
