Before IVTC (http://img1.hugeup.com/f/06262008/6185f44d.jpg)

After IVTC (http://img1.hugeup.com/f/06262008/ac2a980a768a.jpg)

Script used:
interp = nnedi(field=1)
deint = TDeint(order=1,mode=0,type=3,AP=55,APType=2,edeint=interp,slow=2)
tfm(order=1,PP=1,clip2=deint,mode=5,slow=2)

:stupid:
Can't find any way to fix it :(

The really weird part is when playing it in DGIndex, some sections stay progressive, and some switch between progressive and interlaced very quickly.

You tried this yet:

?

It looks to be made for a situation just like yours.

Okay, tried it. Took very, very long in the double hard telecine mode (which is what I have, apparently).
While this fixed the chroma ghosting, the source flickers.
It looks like the interpolation coupled with the flickering caused lines to change a lot (very noticeable) on every frame.

The AnimeIVTC telecine mode has the same problems as TIVTC, but the flickering is almost completely gone. It's also like a million times faster :P
So... is there anything else that could help the chroma ghosting? Is there a really strong temporal denoiser that can take only chroma into account when thresholding?

Try mode=1, i had the same problem on fullmetal alchemist when used mode=2
