I have and archo500 and a cowon a2, and i play my avi:divx files that i encoded with pocketdivxencoder.

i want to get the smaller cowon d2, now that it's come out with 16gb, but on it's spec sheet is supports MPEG4:DIVX(whereas it states AVI:DIVX on the a2 spec sheet).

so i'm confused about the packaging....will i be able to play my avi:divx files on the d2(mpeg4:divx)?

thanks

Yes, it takes (SP) divx, xvid, or wmv9, in avi or wmv containers. As far as I've seen it does not take them in mp4 at all, so their specs are needlessly confusing.

thx.....I returned to this post and saw all my smilies, and I realized that I typed ":" and "D" together. Too funny!

For my edification if the d2 DID take them in mp4, would it then not support my avi's??

Maybe, maybe not. It could support both, or they could choose to support only MP4, or whatever...
