A lot of people ask how to easily remux between mkv and mp4 and if it can possibly be batch processed for a large number of files. While a experienced user could easily use mmg and Yamb to remux some files, processing a large number of files was still cumbersome. StaxRip can make the process now a lot easier. It was relative easy to enhance StaxRip to perform this task as StaxRip supported already rich automation, batch processing, demuxing and muxing.

Software Requirements

latest StaxRip beta
Haali Splitter
ffdshow

StaxRip Configuration

Load the video encoder profile 'Misc/Source file pass through'
Load the audio profile 'Add Existing File' for track 1 and track 2
Load the target container profile

You can save a project template now, it could be named 'Remux to MP4' for instance.

Known limitations

No VFR support
No delay support (MediaInfo, mkvinfo, MP4Box don't provide this information unfortunately)

If you have remux related issues please use this thread, for general StaxRip issues please use the thread in my signature.

Having a issue if possible upload a sample clip causing the issue, good hosting services are 2shared.com and mediafire.com.

i am trying to remux an mkv file to an mp4 file using staxrip 1.1.9.0.

for video encoder i choose just mux. this makes the codec and the container orange and displays the error message (blue at the bottom):
the encoder outputs 'mkv' but the container 'MP4 Container' only supports avi, h264 ...

the video in the mkv is h264.

is this not possible any more?

Have you tried MkvТоMp4 http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=163050

i have not and i thank you for that advice. i am still interested in if/how it works with staxrip, since the above post seems to imply that it works/worked once.
