I am trying to recode an AC3 file which, I presume, has 24 bit audio in it (how do I find out?), coming off Bluray. I can play the file just fine.

However, trying to re-endoce I use this command line:

BeSweet.exe -core( -input "D:\Gothika - 2 - AC3, 5.1 channels, 640kbps, 48khz.ac3" -output "D:\Gothika - 2 - AC3, 5.1 channels, 640kbps, 48khz.ac3" ) -azid( -c normal ) -ota( -hybridgain ) -ac3enc( -b 384 -6ch )

I get this output:

BeSweet v1.5b31 by DSPguru.

Quiting...

What is the deal?

Duh,

I nuked the initial input file by specifying input=output.

Please disregard.

Hi!

And now does the program accept as input and output, filenames including commas?

I am ripping it again which is unfortunately a bit time-consuming. Will let you know although after reviewing eac3to it seems that this can already do the conversion but haven't tried.

Haven't tried commas, but spaces certainly work. I extracted via xport and then recoded using besweet. Resulting filesize almost half. I am too old to hear the difference between 384 and 640 Kbps AC3.

I asked about commas because you have them in your filenames in your initial post to this thread - and I'm thinking this may have been a cause of your problem...
