Does anyone know of a video player that can zoom part of a movie ? Of course, every player I can think of has a "zoom" function, but it resizes the player window.

I'd like to zoom into the movie but player window remains the same.

anyone ?

thanks in adv

A poor player like VLC can't, a good player like MPC and KMP of course can do it.

@audyovydeo

Older versions (and, perhaps, current ones) of WinDVD have just such a zoom function, including the ability to move within the zoomed video...

Thanks both of you.

OK I''ll use MPCHC for this, as I'm not about to put any money into WinDVD.

I am a VLC fan and so don't take lightly any VLC-bashing ;-)

For the record, I am collecting hard data that VLC under windows does achieve hardware acceleration of x264 streams if one changes the "Video Output Module" from "Default" to "DirectX".
But I'll start a new thread on the subject when i have put my data into a readable form.

cheers

Use MPlayer with SMPlayer front-end and press the <E> button to zoom in. You can do the same with "Video > Pan & Scan > Zoom +".
This will not resize the player window, it will just zoom the video and crop the borders...
