How to IVTC 2:3 material?

The decomb manual has nothing on this. The only thing I can think of, with my very limited knowledge. would be to decimate 2 out of 5 frames and then apply some deinterlacing for the 1 combed frame remaining but I'm not sure that's the best choice.

2:3 pulldown is just 3:2 pulldown with a different phase. Decomb can handle it automatically.

If you mean something different by "2:3 material", please explain.

What I mean is that 2 frames are progressive and then 3 are combed, not that the 2 combed frames come first and then the 3 progressive ones. If I use TIVTC I get progressive frames but every 4th frame is slightly blurier than others and with noticeable bending. Is this normal, then?

It's probably field-blended. Can you post a link to a small unprocessed section of your VOB that shows the issue?

Does this mean I have to use mrestore? All those topics mention PAL discs but mine is NTSC.

I haven't downloaded and looked at the sample you gave, but MRestore can give you back any framerate you want. The trick is in determining the correct framerate (after you've figured out how to set up MRestore). If you're correct in saying there are 5 frames per cycle, the correct framerate is most likely 23.97fps.
