I recorded my daughters Spring 3rd grade concert, and while trying to burn it, there are alot of pauses and in some instances a LOUD noise in conjunction with the noise. I tried different dvd disks, same thing. My camera is a Hd that transfers to my hardd drive in .MOV. I have tried converting it into numerous different files, some don't play. the one that actually burns succesfully is the pauser. Help?

Play the mov with mplayer/vlc and see if the pause is in the original clip.

It is most likely to do with your conversion method.

the pause is not on the converted file on the 'puter. I burned it again to compare, and the pauses are at the exact same times, so scratches on the disk aren't the problem. I have tried to burn using Easy Media Creator 10 Suite, and have used DVD Flick. I have also converted useing a couple of different programs, the mpeg2:AC3 conversion is the one getting a picture burn, but the same problem on all programs when I try to burn.

I am using Windows Vista if that helps.

@mearm

Hi!

If you copy the burned disc BACK to your hard drive, does this new hard drive version then play properly?

BTW - Have you tried playing your burned DVD on both a standalone DVD player and your PC, or only one or the other?

One of my burns that pauses on the standalone DVD player, Plays flawless back on the PC. 2 other DVD's I burned with the same process, when I put them in the 'puter, the 'puter asks what I want to do with the blank disk. But I get the start of the DVD with video and sound on the stand alone(before the pauses) from those disks.

Either your burner is problematic, you are burning to poor quality media, or you are burning at a speed that is too high - or any combinationof these.

BTW - The piece of hardware is actually called a "computer" ;>}
