I just recently started to store digital video on my computer so I would appreciate some expert advice to point me in the right direction with my newbie problems.
I currently have everything stored in .mkv containers but some of them use MPEG2 for the video which makes them like twice as large as the rest of my movies, so I want to convert them into VC-1 or H264.
Could you recommend me a good application for this kind of converting that would output .mkv containers with VC-1/H264 and DTS/AAC/AC3 sound?
I guess the output could come in an other container as long as I'll be able to convert them into .mkv without losing any quality.
