Hi
I've just bought an SAPPHIRE ULTIMATE HD 3850 512MB GDDR3 PCI-E... I've tried the "UseBT601CSC=1" registry fix to get deeper blacks on SD films, but it's no working.
Is there another way on the registry or something?
Thanks.

try doing some tuning via the catalyst control centre or look for a amd tuning app, there are plenty out there.

I only find tuning apps for overclocking...
I think my problem can be solved with a registry fix..

All Standard definition films.
No problem with HD films

It won't be a problem with the registry then, it also won't be a problem with the settings in the drivers, i would be looking at the media player and or the graphics drivers.
Do a driver upgrade and try a different media player.

use ffdshow to automatically get true black colors in SD videos.

You have to disable this fix though when watching HD movies.
I think it is better to use the registry to do this though. Did you use the vbs script at avsforum to insert the UseBT601CSC=1 key?

Or use Haali renderer, and switch the luma levels depending on what you're watching :)

Ok. It was my fault, UseBT601CSC=1 works like a Reg_binary not like a Dword :)

Does anybody know if this fix will work on R1950?

You could always try it......

that "fix" depends on drivers, not on cards. so, yes, it should work.

Unfortunately it does not work on my R1950 (8.6 drivers)
