Burning DVD from stored TV memory

I am trying to burn a DVD of a show saved on the memory of my flat screen TV. When I hook up the RCA cords from my DVD recorder I can get the audio but not the video. What connection am I missing?

Are you sure your tv supports outputting video from rca connectors? Most tv's only support input, but they have output connectors for audio so that you can connect it into your hometheater system.

No, I'm not sure. But then why do they do have a video output connection?
