I read of KZJS3 and in the authors blog, as well as some boasting He also mentions He could make a video codec that would be great. You don't need to read very far to see what I mean.

How well do You credit this guy?

I read a bit of that while trying to keep myself from laughing. The arrogance, the lack of any real technical details, and the extraordinary claims (isn't he claiming like 1000x lossless compression or something?) He reminds me of that "fractal compression" guy who claimed to be able to compress random data losslessly, but then disappeared after he found that he couldn't write a working decompressor for his format...

Aha, I did as always have doubts, but I had some hope too of a big leap in progress.

Anyway I only checked it out because that guy posted on the 7-zip forum with his claim (in response to Igors new 7-zip alpha version)

Thanks Dark Shikari, perhaps he ought to post some code or he's just an internet loudmouth

Heh, he (Schumacher) seems to be a bit of an idiot. For instance, he thinks huffman encoding isn't lossless.
