A short and quick DVD to mpg write up

Hi all - I think this falls under "I don't see anywhere else to put it".
I've been a doom9 fan for about 2 years - making my own DVDs, reauthoring DVDs, and learned all about VOBs and PGCs from doom9.

So, I wanted to take some VOB and leave a real .mpg file on a PC - I didn't see a good guide on it and I can even make one with screen shots and everything (i got some tech writing skills, ya know). I did a basic write up on my blog (http://stringer.cc/blog/2008/06/02/another-how-to-not-from-the-home-depot/) with a good share of added humor.

Feedback for ease of use is appreciated and again, I can do a formal write up should the powers that be want to use it.

I believe "twViper" is offering to provide a "how-to guide" for this concept - although, as you've noted, "VOB2MPG" would appear to obviate the need to do so...
