I would like to encode the full bonus disc of Planet of the apes (2001). The VTS 01_1 according to DGMPGDec (DVD2AVI) and Bitrate Viewer is progressive, but checking it visually it clearly contains both interlaced and progressive material. According to my knowladge treating a progressive source as interlaced is not a big mistake, the resulted visual error is negligible, but if you treat an interlaced source as progressive, the resulted error is much bigger. So my question would be, thet using DVD rebuilder of course, where you can disable interlaced only, how can I achive, that DVD reb. will treat it as interlaced, not progressive.

And I would like to ask a second question considering the disable interlaced" option. I know that if my source material is flagged correctly, DVD reb. will treat it correctly. If my source is progressive, but flaged as interlaced, I can use the option to disable interlaced, so it will be treated as progressive. But is there any difference in the way DVD reb. treats the source material, if it is progressive, and flagged as progressive, and I leave the "disable intelaced" option off, or I switch it on just to be absulatly sure.

It's best to let DVD-RB handle it. If it is a hybrid (a mixture of progressive and interlaced) it will be replicated correctly.
