I'm so close to having a great way to backup a dual layer DVD without losing quality using ReelDVD.
1) ReelDVD allows a direct drag-and-drop import of the .m2v .ac3 files created by Smartripper using stream "demux to extra files" (with a 9999 max filesize so they don't get chopped up).
2) ReelDVD allows you to synchronize the A+V.
3) ReelDVD allows you to choose a start and end point for the piece of the movie you want.
4) Obviously, you can add chapter points and menus as you please (the menus are tricky with this package).
So basically, you can chop movie 1 into 1a and 1b, movie 2 into 2a and 2b, and have 1a, 2a , 1b+2b on 3 DVRs.
The limitations are that 1b+2b must both be the same type (e.g. 16:9)
My only problem is that when I'm creating the files doing 1b+2b I get this error:
Info Creating DVD Video files
Error Line21 Switch 2 User data should exist in Track "thematrix-t", Domain "VTS Menu Domain", "VTS_1".
Error PreCheck From DB failed.
Error DVD Video files could not be created
Does anyone have a clue what this means. I've tried creating extra substreams with dummy subtitles... nothing works!
Note: The preview mode has no problem. Also, if I just do 1b or 2b by itself on a DVR then it works fine.
