Found a site (I think its run by Fox) http://www.hulu.com/
It airs all the latest Fox shows (nothing old) and has a lot of oldie but goody Videos...

There is however one thing one must do to watch and that is to fill out a who what when and where... (no need to confirm)

It uses in video adverts to sell its purpose...

Anyhow hope to see it put up if not whatever... Just figured someone might find interest in it...:rolleyes:

TV-stations in other countries are sometimes a season behind with series. If the new season is already available on the internet* they most likely lose viewers and income from commercials.

*of course this can't be prevented, but if the company who is selling the programs is making them available for free on the internet before the station can even broadcast them it changes things. If you look at South Park Studios for example, episodes of the new season always became available after the first time they were aired.

But what about "old" TV shows that have already ended? Some of these old shows aren't shown in other countries, so it can't cause any harm to local TV stations.

program classification would be a good reason. it's okay to be viewed in the USA, but not necessarily New Zealand or Indonesia. it'd be a nightmare to sort out that kind of thing for what is a niche market at the moment.

there's also the issue of the advertising used. fox will want to charge for ad space, and would be "losing money" (quotes because it's a weird area) if these ads are being seen in a wider audience than originally intended. likewise the advertisers might not want their ads to be seen out of context - it's pretty common to make ads specific to the country they're being seen in, and different countries have different classification for ads as well.

i like this idea though. one step closer to free TV on demand. now we just need it in HD so i can watch it on my new 46" thing :)
