View Full Version : WMP in default programs has MPC HC's icon

For some reason, WMP in Vista Home Basic SP1 has taken on the icon for Media Player Classic Home Cinema instead. The author part has changed to "mpc-hc@sourceforge"

I don't know when this first started, but it is getting annoying.

The attachment is still pending approval (?) so I can't "see" what you're saying - you say this is just in Default Programs? In "Set your default programs" or in "Set program access and computer defaults"? What's the value for:
* HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Media\Windows Media Player\shell\open\command
?

Could you launch regedit, and look here :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\RegisteredApplications

Do you have a key named "Windows Media Player" with the value "Software\Clients\Media\Windows Media Player\Capabilities" ?

Your Windows Media Player registry is ok, so the problem is somewhere else :

- Do you have, in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\RegisteredApplications, a key "Media Player Classic" with value "Software\Clients\Media\Media Player Classic\Capabilities" ?

- Do you have registered some file format with builds from Guliverkli or Guliverkli2? If so get latest build from Guliverkli2 for example, and remove all files associations (Option / format).

I don't have HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\RegisteredApplications, a key "Media Player Classic"

I download both gul*, the formats tab were all unselected.
