Hi, I have a DVD that will play in a standalone DVD player but my DVD-Rom will not read it. When I put the DVD in the drive it looks like the medium is blank, I mean it doesn't give me 'insert disk' message. It open but no files are seen. When I open it in DVD Decrypter it says somethings like device not read, unable to recover TOC. The drive does work, I can read other DVDs. Any ideas as to why this specific disk will not read? Thanx

Hi!

1) What is the Title and Region number of the DVD?

2) If you're desirous of ripping the DVD and not merely reading it, use the "RipIt4Me" package instead of only DVD Decrypter.

2) The DVD may contain an Autorun file that may be causing the problem - and, might not be captured and prevented by "RipIt4Me" (a rare occurence). Try holding down the "Shift" key, loading the DVD until your hard drive light turns off, and then releasing the "Shift" key...

I have had this happen on a few disc's but never really investigated why, just lived with it and moved on.

Sad but true, that was my way of dealing with it at the time too...
