Hi!
I've ripped a movie which on the TV hadn't any borders but on the computer shows as follow.

As is shown, there are some 'notchs' plus a huge border on the right. On the left and top of the screen there are smaller borders.

Which is the visible area of a (pal) DVD?
not all the lines are shown since neither the notchs nor the borders are sowno on a TV.

Not sure what your asking here, but it's called overscan, it is very common practise....

All you need to do is crop the edges.

I've doing that, cutting the borders while maintaining the aspect ratio, but that also cuts some part of the movie.
I'll take a look at the overscan thing but an explanation of it is welcome.

Off that capture your going to loose a tiny amount of information it's not worth worrying about it, just do it
