In short: You want to "Demux audio from VOB" (feel free to search that in the forum/internet).
There are many ways (and programs) to do that. If the DVD is not protected, get DVD Decrypter, put it in IFO mode, enable stream processing, select "demux" for the stream you want and hit the big button.
If it is protected, you need to solve that - AnyDVD is one of the programs for that purpose.
I'm sure others will suggest alternative ways and programs.

Im looking for a way to get a sound file only from a DVD for editing.
I use VOBEdit (freeware) or DVD Audio Extractor (not free)
With the DVD already decrypted to the HD, open the first VOB with VOBEdit (usually is VTS_01_1.VOB 0,99GB)
Then, click on Demux and check "Demux All Audio Streams", select a place to save and don't rename it.
The result will be an AC3 or MPA file (that you must rename to MP2).
When the demux process ends, you can rename the fale to whatever you wan.
Renaming before makes the file get wrong file extension.
