Ok, so i do anime encodes and one of the programs i do is taken from CITV. However, the amount of noise on the programme is rediculously high. I mean, whenever the image moves the noise really shows and it looks bad on the edges. I have tried using HQDN3D, but it doesnt really get rid of it. I have exp with avidemux but i was just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to get rid of it. I dont really mind encoding time that much if it makes it look better..
Please help me as i dont have any ideas left.
Thx in adv.

You could try FluxSmooth or TemporalCleaner as an alternative to HQDN3D. Also MSmooth might be useful for anime...

Make sure you look at the output (filtered) video, not at the source:
You must choose "Output" (or "Side") in the dropdown box in the main window, otherwise you see the unprocessed input.
That wouldn't be the first time somebody missed that ^^
Anyway, all those filters have various settings to make the effect stronger or weaker...

You'll just have to switch to avisynth (or mencoder) and use some stronger filters, then. MVDegrain, TemporalDegrain, or MC_Spuds can handle dirty things that avidemux filters completely fail on (either not denoising enough or smearing out all the detail).
