whats up guys, well I'm somewhat new to the ripping of DVD's and I have a few questions. The way I was originally ripping movies was by using DVD-Decrypter and AutoGordianknot, but that is a very lengthy process, not to mention that sometimes the audio wouldn't be in sync with the video. Then I started using "ImToo DVD Ripper", a whole lot easier to use, but then just for one movie in XVID it was giving me files around the 1.2GB area. Now I was introduced to "Fair Use Wizard", but it seems the output video is somewhat small. So my question is how do you guys go about doing all this? Ripping to XVID around the 700-800 MB area and also at a pretty good quality

I personally use Megui, but that might be a bit much for a newbie. AutoMKV is a good intermediate choice.

Also, I personally prefer x264 over xvid, much better quality is many cases.

If you care more about quality don't worry too much about file size, choose a bitrate that gives the quality you desire and encode to that, storage is soo cheap these days keeping movies to 700mb is not that important.
