Soundblaster Audigy 2 issues

Hi all
I´m having a strange problem with my sound card.
I have an Audigy 2 ,
I´m trying to install assassins creed.
From what I can tell it is updating my direct x, to 9 or 10 not sure which one,or if this affects it.
After the install I have no sound , not only in the game but all my media files.
I un-installed the game . no sound.
I un-installed the sound card and reinstalled. Sound again, on everything.
Reinstalled the game back to square 1.
Anybody had similar problems ?

Hi!

You might want to go into the Control Panel>>Device Manager and see if the soundcard is noted as being "Disabled". If so, just enable it...

Yeh it changed that config also.

I ended up installing the game and then reinstalling the soundcard afterwards. problem solved. It was strange,as if the direct x versions were clashing.
What was noted , at the end of installing the sound card the direct x settings were updated . I think the version on the cd is too old.
weird but solved. :)
