Yeah hi,
Decided to post here, i probably know this comes up time and again, but i do need to know what to do with the following:
I Capture DVB-T in 16:9 Shaped footage. I often get alot of 4:3 footage which is shows as a small square within the footage.
Once separated, i would like to know a tool or way you can change the aspect ratio, so the 4:3 square is proper fullscreen.
Im not after re-encoding it, just anything to help, i can post samples :)
Thanks in advance.

I often get alot of 4:3 footage which is shows as a small square within the footage. Are you referring to the display via your PC on its monitor, or on an HDTV from a standalone player?
If you're referring to your PC, what software are you using to display it?

ugh, not sure if it affects the par/dar but whenever i play it, with any player it shows as a square:

obviously when i open in something like vdm, it goes into a 1:1 shape.

Post a link to a short piece of the unprocessed source stream that we can use to duplicate the issue.

ah sure thing mate, its from a dvb-s cap.

Ill add more info, it doesnt change shape in vdm than i first suspected (tested it now) only when the mpeg-2 is physically 16:9. Say like capping from DVB-T. But its still an unusal thing, since the satellite service im provided with, lets you change the aspects while viewing, eg:
01: Center Cut (http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/5129/01centercutrg8.jpg)
02: 14:9 (http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/7376/02149kg2.jpg)
03: Letterbox (http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/5226/03letterboxlu4.jpg)
For this cap i had set it to letterbox.
