m2v file loses quality when opened in DGIndex

After I demuxed vob files to get m2v videofile I have ti index it with DGIndex, ti have an opportunity to encode it using MeGUI via Avisynth Script. Everything went fine, but yesterday I have found out that on one of my DVDs two m2v streams (and only these two of many m2v from many DVDs) lose quality when opened in DGIdex.

Here is how does the m2v file look:

Could someone suggest a solution?

As I cannot access your images until tonight due to my corporate firewall, can you explain in words what the "loss of quality" looks like?

Or, if you attach the images, I can approve them immediately.

Also, can you post a link to a piece of the M2V file that I can use to duplicate your issue?

A quick solution would be to change the colour matrix used. IIRC the default is 601 for DVDs. See if 709 exhibits the same behaviour.

@neuron2: Top one (original) looks normal, balanced colours. Bottom one (DGIndex) looks like it's got more colours than it should have.

[7]Raven, the first image looks like it has been deinterlaced through post-processing. How are you viewing that m2v file? You sure you don't have any post-processing enabled? The "quality loss" of the image in DGIndex is just interlacing. This isn't a bug. This is how it should be.

the second one is way washed out. Looks like a gamma boost. Colors are off too. more is going on than just an interlacing problem.

Me and Inventive Software made our posts almost at the same instant. My first impression was the interlacing/deinterlacing difference, but after seeing Inventive Software's comment, I took a closer look and noted the color difference too. The one in DGIndex looks darker and washed out. Hopefully just a color matrix issue.

Until the OP posts a stream sample and tells us how he made both screenshots, everything is pointless speculation.
