i am trying to set my scsi hd as my boot drive, c drive. the thing is, i also have 3 ide hd's also. windows setup refuses to let me use scsi hd as c drive by default unless i trick it, by having the scsi hd and the primary master ide with no volumes, then first clicking on scsi hd in windows install, then ide drive, then scsi drive again. the funny thing is, if i use my 46gig ide doing this, it would fail near the end of formatting in preparation for installation. but, if i use my 16gig ide drive instead, it formats fine and setup continues. i even went as far as self formatting the 46gig elsewhere and trying to swap it with the 16gig after installtion has finished, but it would result in a boot failure. and if i try adding more ide hd's after installation, i get kernalos failure. changing boot order in bios has no affect. turning off primary master in bios has no affect.
basically, does anyone know a way to have a scsi hd as c drive boot, and have 3 ide hd's as drives d,e,f? i've spent the last 3 days trying stuff already, with no results.
motherboard: soyo dragon plus
os: windows 2000 pro
  :(
