Anyone know a way this can be done?

I have a couple VOB's which I would like to burn to a dvd. I can make them play one after another, but what I want to do is allow it to be selectable Via a menu. I know that I can convert to mpeg if I need to, but I would prefer not. My idea is to create a menu with DVDit, then change out the Vob files and hit it with IFOedit. My first problem is how do I create my menu such that it will force new VOB numbers( IE VTS_01_01.vob .... VTS_04_01.vob). Will making menu's force new VOB numbers? Is there some simple way to do this? I'de hate to spend all this time learning a hack, and finding out there was a program that did it for me(although that does seem to be how I learn).

Anyone have any ideas and/or comments???
:D   :D

Currently, this can't be done, only by an authoring tool.

But if you can wait for summer, I will enhance IfoEdit with Menu-features. :)

That's cool (the Ifoedit). Could you tell me what authoring tool /tools would allow me to point at preexisting VOB's.

thanx,

no dvd authoring tool I know off supports VOB input.. you have to demux and create a new project with m2v and ac3 files in your dvd authoring tools

That's what I was hoping to avoid. So much easier to use what I already have. It's a pain to keep the 5.1 when authoring.

Doom9,

Life just got much easier. Dvdwise junior lets you use use vob files behind buttons. Even the demo version does this. It produces a valid video_ts folder. Let me know if you want the address for the demo, and I'll pm you.
