hi all... not beeing really a n00b! i opt to choose the newbies cat. to ask this:

im trying to find a reliable and robust video indexer software! does anyone knows a good one? all ive found was this one: http://www.fastvideoindexer.com/index.htm ( fastvideoindexer ) !! but im having problems with lack of features and bugs of all kinds!

the thing is: ive lots of efx clips, etc. and i want to catalogue it all using a thumbnail / still captures web gallery report! and the only software that does the work is "fastvideoindexer" at least is the only one ive found!!!!
can you please helpme on finding a similar / alternative, but better software! this one is buggy.

thanks for the support. i allready tryed other forums, but with no luck.

here's some samples of reports ive made testing the fastvideoindexer:

http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/5491/videoindexer1ba7.th.jpg (http://img170.imageshack.us/my.php?image=videoindexer1ba7.jpg)

ps.
there are lots of other types, like: video snapshooters/still captures; movie organizers / managers softwares.
but none that:
1º - choose a bunch of movie/video files
2º - takes still captures of all files
3º - generates a detailed report of all captures in a web gallery style

and btw, ive also tryed to do that steps myself using a web gallery generator + video still capture generator! but.. theres no control over the details, and theres no sequence, etc!

Hi!

See if any of the threads in the following Doom9 SEARCH link may be useful:

If you (sort of) like Fast Video Indexer, why don't you try contacting the company; show them the bugs and ask them if they are willing to fix them, then you can buy it. Have you tried this way?

Some other options (untested):

http://www.vid2html.com/index.html (try a Developer Version)

@jeffy

Hi!setarip_old: Your search link is invalid.To be more accurate, that search link is no longer valid.

The OP indicated that he/she successfully used it.

I believe search links are valid only for a limited period of, perhaps, 24-48 hours...

I've just lost my N-th drive, so please be nice :(
I would like to ask you to post what search words you used or what criteria. You are of course right, the search links are valid only for a certain period of time. Thank you.

@jeffy

I used:

"movie" and "organizer" as one phrase (INCLUDING the quotes)

xnview generates thumbnails (it's primarily an image organizer that also works with video), and allows you to generate a thumbnail sheet with a standard or custom template from a selection or from all videos (or images, files, etc) in a folder or folder tree. That should cover what you're looking for.

It uses directshow to generate thumbnails so it can be somewhat flaky if you use a flaky decoder.
