all right, i got this 1 film, charlie's angels, with all the files this movie totals 5.48 gb's, obviously can't burn it back to a dvdr in this way. Now i've been trying to re encode the MAIN movie part with rempeg...and i did so and was able to get it down to a nice 1.73 gb's from 3.48 gb's without the audio tracks. So here's my main concern, when i try to remux the video and audio tracks back togethar using bbmpeg, it doesn't sync very well and is off by like a second or so. So is there a method in which you can re encode the video and AUDIO togethar without doing them seperatly and thus having to remux them again..which will probably cause sync errors?

anyhelp would be really fuckin sweet...so thanks guys for reading this

all right, err i'll bump this and re ask the question

can you transcode both the video and audio togethar so that you don't have to remux them and risk sync problems..

any help would be nice

I just copied Charlies Angels with no problem. I used Smartripper 2.41 to decrypt and deleted the extra vobs not needed. Got it down under 4.7g and used iofedit to fix the pointers.

follow the ifoedit guide on Doom9's site, it will tell you how to do it will all the extras, IFOedit does it just fine

mux video and audio together in bbmpeg? first of all.. bbmpeg is no real dvd muxer.. the files it creates can't be used on DVDs. second: there's no need to do any manual muxing.. you should follow the guides (you haven't read them I know that, otherwise you would've noticed that there's a guide where I strip extras, re-encode the main movie with rempeg and then replace the original video track with the re-encoded one.. it can all be done in ifo-edit)

see guys the whole idea is that i don't want to strip the extra's...and i haven't read your guide, doom...i've been reading bumble's guide

Coop:rolleyes:

and yes the files muxed with bbmpeg can be used to use on a dvd thus why you can output to .vob in that program

bbmpeg creates no truly valid DVD output files because the author doesn't even know the DVD specs (yes, I asked him, he told me so.. the very reason why the DVD format is written as ~DVD is because it's not a true DVD format).

and.. if you don't want to strip the extras then by all means just skip that step. my basic ifo-edit guide, step6 describes exactly what you want to do.
