Okay, I'm not sure if this is the right forum for it so please feel free to move it to the right forum.

I have been using MeGUI to convert some videos to H.264 with AAC audio using the PD-PS3-Xbox360 profile and .mp4 container. For some reason, when I try to access the video from the Xbox 360 Media dashboard, I get an error before it plays. Has anyone else had similar issues with playing H.264/AAC Mp4 files?

I have tried using PD-PS3-Xbox360 profile with Main@L4.1 and that doesn't work either.

I have tried to play it without audio and it still doesn't work. I have tried to encode it using the PD-Xbox_HiRes profile which does not use CABAC and that did not work.

Something worth noting: The video is 60fps. I don't know if that poses a problem.

This is the media info for the file.

Just out of curiosity try AutoMKV (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=136007) and use it's PS3/X360 profile just to see if the video plays.

Everything I've put through AutoMKV has always worked on the Xbox.

Well I solved my problem. I redownloaded the H.264 profiles for MeGUI, reencoded the video and the audio as well and that fixed the problem.... Also, I just now realized the media info for the video that doesn't work had Mpeg-1, not AAC as the audio. I wonder if that caused Xbox360 to give me an error. Oh well, problem is solved! :)

Can the 360 play h264 and ac3 in a ts container?

Nope.

AC3 5.1 only in AVI with XviD or MPEG-2 in DVR-MS.

AC3 will be down-mixed to 2 channel if playing MPEG-2 in .mpg container.

H.264 in MP4 with AAC LC audio only.
