h.264 720p or 1080p file converted and burned to dvd-r(dl) playable on HD-DVD.

How in the world can I take one large H.264 file in HD, convert to whatever format is required for an HD-DVD player to be able to play it and burn it to regular DVD-R(DL) discs keeping the original 720p or 1080p resolution????

I have some shows on my HD that I would love to get off of it to free up space and ideally I'd like to burn them to where they are still in their HD resolution and playable on my Toshiba HD-A2.

I've tried a bunch of stuff and I'm at a loss. Is this possible? I'm certain it must be somehow or another. Any help (I actually need it spelled out in idiot proof style) is appreciated. Thanks.

I haven't gotten it to work quite right for me yet, but I'm still trying. I'll let you know if I have any luck.
