Hi,
I use AGK to convert DVD's to Xvid. Recently, I've had to convert a large number of series DVD's and I was somewhat frustrated by AGK's interface, so I wrote AGK Batcher. AGK Batcher is an automation utility that makes it easier to add multiple files to AGK's process queue. It's Features are:
*Drag and drop interface
*Scanning of directories to locate DVD .IFO files using one of four methods from automatic to manual.
*Options to process files other than DVD format video.
*Option to process specific Program Chain (PGC) automatically. (Although, this appears to be broken in AGK v2.45)
*"Watches" for AGK warning dialogs and cancels them automatically so you can, "set it and forget it."
*Works with AGK v2.45
*Includes documentation
*AGK Batcher is freeware
*AGK Batcher is tiny, 256k

Thanks for your effort and for sharing this with us, OneAmp.
Couple of questions -
When scanning my C: drive for IFOs, AGK Batcher seems to be finding IFOs in directories where I know there are none.
e.g:
C:\\$Recycle.Bin\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.IFO
C:\\Boot\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.IFO
C:\\DOCS\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.IFO
In the above, my Recycle Bin is empty, I have no folder called Boot on my C: drive and I have no VIDEO_TS folder in C:\DOCS. What gives?
I tried exporting them all anyway, and in the end it said 17 files were exported to AutoGK's queue, but I don't see anything in AutoGK's queue. Shouldn't I be seeing something there?
I am trying this on a Vista x86 machine.

Hi,
Thanks for trying out the software. I suggest you take a look at the documentation carefully. I don't wanna sound like a jerk, but you're using it differently than I intended. :p
AGK Batcher isn't designed to scan your C: drive and find .IFO's. In fact, AGKB makes certain assumptions about how your files are organized. (And, does very little error checking.) Again, check the docs. But, very briefly, you should dump your DVD rips into a central place, let's say a folder called, "Rips." Then, AGKB assumes that when you scan, "Rips," each folder inside is a movie and that each folder contains another folder called VIDEO_TS. For example:
Rips/American_Pie/VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_0.IFO
Rips/Chicago/VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_0.IFO
Rips/Some_movie/VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_0.IFO
So, if you scanned "Rips," with auto scan, AGKB would give you the correct listing of files. By scanning your entire C drive, you're basically telling AGKB that every sub-folder under C: is a DVD folder. Obviously, that's no good.
Hope that helps!

This must be what you are referring to:
Folder to Scan - In order to perform a scan, you must enter a directory into the "Folder to Scan" text box. You can drag and drop a folder here, type in a path manually or click the icon to browse for a folder. For Auto, Best Guess and Manual scanning, it is assumed that each movie is in it's own folder. Furthermore, for Auto and Best Guess scans, there must be within each movie folder a folder called VIDEO_TS that contains the DVD video.I must admit - I wouldn't have been able to interpret this to mean that if there were folders in there which didn't contain IFOs, your tool wouldn't skip that. But, thanks for clarifying that. So, after the export, AutoGK's queue showing nothing is also because of this? Shouldn't it export at least the valid folders?
While I get the (very) specific purpose of the tool, you may want to extend its capabilities if you wish to better the tool and so that more people can use it.

I'll readily admit, there are still a few bugs to work out. Sometimes, for reasons I have yet to uncover, AGKB sends a command to AGK to open the window and AGK ignores it or doesn't get it. So, AGKB is sitting there waiting for a window that isn't opening, so it gets stuck. Your best bet is to kill AGKB and try again. Or, click the open file dialog in AGK manually (since that's what AGKB is waiting for). This bug usually only happens the first time you try to export something. It sounds like this is your issue. When you click Export, you should see something happening. (ie, a dialog in AGK should open.) If nothing happens, quit AGKB and try once more. Sorry for the problems.
If you try to export a folder with a non-valid file structure, (an empty folder for example) AGKB should complain with an error. It does check to see if the file exists, but it's up to you to make sure all your ducks are in a row so to speak.
I hope that clears things up a bit. And, thanks for the feedback. I'll try to incorporate suggestions and bug fixes in the next version. Obviously, there's still work to be done.

Love the concept, scan seems to work, however it just locks up supposedly waiting for AGK.
Running Windows 7 x64, AGK 2.55.
Anyone know of a similar tool?
