99min cds - 870mb

Just wondering if any of u guys have used 99min cds before? Do they work?

IMHO they are wery useful when making 1CD rips, extra 220megs helps alot to improve quality.
They work if u have 99min capable burner. Generally they work in reader drives, but some have problems somewhere after 90 minute mark.

I had bought one some time ago, but later it appeared that my burner can go as far as 777MB (funny size). So check your burner first, get a Nero and activate DAO.

Using conventional burner, using MODE 2 FORM2 format.
The process is clumsy, because the usual burning software
doesn't support well MODE2 FORM2 except VCD which is restricted
to VCD).

Regarding burning on 80++ minutes CD,
I think this is "non standard" which means only
few burners burn these CDs and not every CDROM reads them.

My PlexWriter 12/4/32 work overburn to 90min only.

Normal CDRom may have divx playback problem(choppy); data store was OK.

The big problem with 90 and 99 minute disks is that there is no standard. So every company is making their 9 minute disks different ways, so discs from one company may work, but disks from other companies may not.

As long as there is no widely recignised standard for such
size. A widely recognised standard means that major
CDROM manufacturers are committed to play such CDs.
