Hello,

first I 'll say that AGK is the best & the simpliest software I know to convert DVD in AVI.

I use it since about 4 years, without any problem, and I'm very glad of it.

But the 2 last times i used it , i had problem to convert DVD9 in AVI.

Process :
1) used DVD Decrypter to extract DVD tracks, as usual
2) used AGK 2.45 and 2.48 Beta
3) I choosed Audio AC3 6 ch & Subtitle (in French) and 3 CD output size, and there is a synchro problem between audio and subtitle.

Rq: Even when i use "preview" there is a desynchro between audio (very low and slow) & subtitle.

I don't understand , I did the same process before without problem.

Thanks for your help.

Rq: With FairUse I successed to convert this DVD in AVI , but I don't like this software, less simpliest than yours, and no AC3 support.

Mike.

Hello and welcome to the forum,

If this is a newer DVD, then sometimes DVD Decrypter doesn't work well and can lead to out-of-synch audio. What is the name of the movie, if I may ask? I might suggest redecrypting using DVDFab HD Decrypter in its Main Movie mode and trying again.

Hello Manono,

thanks for your response, i'll try.

I also tried to use the .IFO from the DVD directly (.ISO mounted with Daemon Tools) , and with the same result .

Are we obliged to use first DVD Decrypter or his equivalent ?

The problem with DVD Decrypter is that it hasn't been updated in several years now, and it just can't handle many of the newer DVDs with the new-fangled copy protections. That's why I asked for the name of the movie.

I'm not sure. I've always put the files I wanted onto my hard drive before doing anything else. Maybe someone else can answer whether or not it's OK to encode off of an ISO. I suppose it would be OK but have never done it myself.

I forgot to ask before; which is in synch with the video, the audio, the subs, or neither? If one is in synch, the other can be made to synch up without too much difficulty.

The movie is "Spiderman 3" , comes from NG.

Audio and Video are synchronised but not the subtitles.

I tried with "DVDFab HD Decrypter 4" with the resame result .
The subtiltles don't appear while using "preview" in AGK.

Bizarre because with "FairUse" it's work.

Hi-

Spiderman 3 was released by Sony, so it is ARccOS protected. That has to be in some way involved. It is peculiar, though, for the audio to be in synch but not the subs. But all is not lost. If you can find out the amount it's out of synch you can fix it and then use the edited subs for the movie.

Fix the synch in SubtitleCreator. Open SubtitleCreator and go Tools->Manipulate SUP or VobSub->Open Sub and scroll to the IDX part of the IDX/SUB combination. Then hit the "Delay" button in that new screen and add in the amount of the delay. Hit "Apply" and then "Save Sub", and save the IDX/SUB under a new name. To use the fixed subs in the AVI, use the CTRL-F8 trick to get them into the AVI. Here's a guide:

http://forum.videohelp.com/topic316471.html?sid=a47c3bff374fcd1239524b4cff32a792

Use the drop-down box to be able to select the VobSub IDX file. Then encode as usual. I realize you shouldn't have to jump through hoops to get the subs into the movie properly, especially if one of the AutoGK competitors can do it with no problem, but unless and until someone comes along that knows a better answer, this workaround will have to do.
