I am after a program to create menus for avi files that i wish to change to vob for standard dvd playback. I have found an excellent tool called dvd flick which can turn multiple avi video files into vob so that they will all play on a normal dvd player, but unfortunately the program cannot produce a menu listing any of its content so i can choose what video to play. I know there is plenty of purchasable software that will do both menus and vob conversion but if i can find one great program that can do the conversion to vob (dvd flick) surely there must be similar software that is just as capable in creating menus? Its probably unlikely that flick created vob files can be incorporated into a seperate menu but thanks for any help if possible.. Update : just found 'dvd author gui' from www.videohelp.com which seems to do a good job in creating menus as well as creating the final dvd image to burn, and vob files created in dvd flick seem to be acceptable, although i have only tested small files at present. I am wondering if anyone can tell me if these two freeware programs are a good choice, or if there is better out there?

I had a look myself i think the latest is version 1.3 which mentions menu creation, not tried it out yet, but you can get it here: http://www.videohelp.com/tools/DVD_Flick
I got dvd author with gui here: http://download.videohelp.com/liquid217/dvdauthorgui.pl

FAVC can create menus and convert your AVIs using HCEnc (or QUEnc if you're after speed) both of which produce good results. The menus are pretty basic but there are ways to improve them.
