Hi Everyone, some of my Camera Audio has some bad sound once I have converted onto my PC as a .wav or mp3 file etc I am looking for:

An Application
A Tutorial for this Application

I am mainly looking for something that cleans up audio sound, crispening and sharpening the voice and music, and taking out or reducing background 'hiss' and static, movement, wind etc in parts where possible maybe by seperating each section of the audio to play around with?

I thought I would leave it to you audio experts to give me a few pointers, I have tried looking in vario0us places first, and noticed it was possible on a before and after I heard of a sample audio file where to author said he ran a 'hiss filter' through it and 'cleaned it up boosting voice sound and other wanted effects'

Hope this is clear enough, thanks in advance.
IF there is nothing that does all this in one, seperate apps would be fine.. but if there is not a complete audio fixer out in 2008 damn!
:thanks:

If your voice isn't mixed in with the noise already, then it's easier because you can separate the channels and just work on the ones which have issues. Otherwise, it's going to be difficult not to affect the voice too.

Tools to try, off the top of my head - Audacity (free), Adobe Audition (not free), Goldwave (not free), Acoustica (not free, but fully functional trial version available).

All that said, if your audio was OK before, and only got messed up only after the conversion, then it's probably the conversion that's to be blamed. How exactly did you do the conversion? Maybe we should investigate that.

Thanks for your words of advise mate ^^
The audio is actually just MP3 Stereo and all mixed in together, and had nothing to do with the coversion but more the environment it was recorded in and also some slight camera movement noises and slight hisses from the mic itself etc, basically as I said I just want to make it clearer by keeping the voices and other surround effects inplace andclean it up a bit.
I wish I knew what this 'hiss filter' was I heard about, as it seemed to clear the audio up alot, and make the voices that were dull come clean and over-power the unwanted noises while having them reduced.

However I am definately going to try the apps you said, and will post back with my results, and maybe post a before and after sample.

Thanks heaps, I am glad I found this forum, I have been posting these type of questions on my home base film forum for a while but no-one knows video like on a video editing forum ;)

Cheers Guyz, Gr8 New Place for me to hang out when not at my home forum too, knowledge is power :)
