Hi,
I've started evaluating DVDLabPro2 (current dl available from mediachance's website) and have a question. When I try to build a motion meu by importing an M2V into the asset window and then copying (click and drag) into a menu window. I get the message that "you are setting a motion menu", however the background of the menu remains black, no video shows up. The connections view window shows a film clip and audio icon in the window. In the compiled DVD, the motion menu plays properly and is visable. Also the M2V file can be played in a software player such as DVDMax.

What I am trying to do is put buttons over certain text positions in the video, however without being able to see the video, this is very difficult. As a work around I have captured a frame from the video used for the motion menu and imported it as a PNG image and overlayed the menu with that for button placement, however that seems to be a difficult way to have to do it.

Is this a bug, or am I missing something? Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks,

Double click the video for your motion menu in the assets window.
Then you can choose the frame you need for your buttons with the preview slider.
Now drag and drop the menu video from assets window to the menu.

goonix,
Thanks for the input. :thanks: If I double click on the M2V file in the assets window it just highlights the video, it doesn't open up a preview window. The version of DVD-Lab I'm running is Pro 2.5, Complier 4.212

Creating a temporary movie file in the connections window and putting the video in that allowed me to preview it and copy a frame to the menu window. Then I can delete the movie from the connections widow. Your way seems easier, but I can't seem to get it to work. Is it a difference in versions?

Goonix (el al),
I feel like and idiot. It is in fact working like it should. I didn't pay enough attention and the 1st few frames of the video I added were blank (gee black).:stupid:

Should have suspected that.

Again thanks for you help. I'll try not to be so stupid the next time.

Cheers,

PS
I'll try the excuse that I've been up late the last few nights:rolleyes:
