Hi
I'm confused, I have a couple of DivX movies, in Playa they playback fine...but don't play in Media Player v8. Media Player opens the avi fine and i see the time incrementing but get no video or audio.
I have Divx412 codecs installed.
I have has similar problems before when I get audio, but no video. I assume I'm missing a codec. Any ideas anyone???

I can make a suggestion, and I agree wmp kinda sux for playback. Try using PowerDivX NextGen. If you can't get it on dooms downloads section, try http://www.powerdivx.com/
For me it works like a charm

I was getting the same problem with WMP, I dont now :)
while playing the movie or clip right click
and select properties, advanced, video renderer
and then direct draw and uncheck YUV offscreen
this worked for me, although Iam using Win95 it might
still work for you
hope that helps

I had a similiar issue, would not play on WinMP.
Had worked prior, then I updated WinMP to 7.1 and it stopped.
Reloaded the Divx412Codec and all is fine, back to a buggy player like before.
NOTE: I can reproduce this by reloading WinMP 7.1 reboot and Divx4 no longer works on MP but does on Playa....reload Codec and away you go!
