I'm attempting to convert DTS HD to AC3 using "eac3to". Using tsremux I put the audio file on the my desktop. Its a DTSHD file....I then import it into "eac3to". when i try to export I get a command line...thats it though, nothing happens.

Any ideas

If you're not used to command lines you can use this GUI for eac3to:

I'm using the "eac3toGUI" program, I'm assuming this is what you're referring to? I import the .dtshd file and then hit convert. once I hit convert a comman line populates and then says "Microsoft Windows [Version 6.0.6000]

C:\Users\The Dude\Desktop>"C:\Users\The Dude\Desktop\eac3to.exe" "C:\Users\The D
ude\Desktop\aud.dtshd" "C:\Users\The Dude\Desktop\aud.ac3"
'"C:\Users\The Dude\Desktop\eac3to.exe"' is not recognized as an internal or ext
ernal command,
operable program or batch file.

Is it waiting for me to type something?

Along with "eac3toGUI" do you have "eacto3.exe" installed?

You have to download eac3to, too, and unzip it and tell the GUI where eac3to.exe is located. Furthermore for DTS-HD decoding you'll need to have the Sonic audio decoder installed. If you don't have that audio decoder (it's not freeware), you can use "libav" instead for decoding. I think there's a switch in the GUI for libav decoding. That way only the DTS core will be decoded, though, and not the full DTS-HD information. The difference in audio quality should not be big, though, cause you want to transcode to AC3, anyway, which is also a lossy codec.

Thanks

Whats your source?
Eac3to should add the delay for you if you demux the dts track directly from the EVO file assuming its a HDDVD - If its a Blu-Ray source then there is no delay so something would have gone wrong elsewhere - Another point, are you using tsremux or tsmuxer to mux the video and audio back together - you should be using tsmuxer
