View Full Version : How to re-encode .mkv files

I have many .mkv movies which are more than 8.5GB each. how can I re-encode this movies so as to fit them in 1 ONLY DVD (Dual Layer) and to remain .mkv?
I don't want to split into 2 DVD's just only to loose few quality and "zip" them.
I try with the RiverPast - Video Cleaner but the results was VERY BAD regarding quality.

Now, cos I'm a nice person and feeling in a good mood, I'lll say this once. We cannot help with downloaded files, which yours has a very strong whiff of being. Prove otherwise, and we'll be glad to help, otherwise, I'd see this thread being closed anytime soon.

It's not downloaded files my friend! these are rip files from MINE original Bluray! I just wanted to have it backup in Dual Layer.

Re-encode them to a target file size / bitrate to get them to your size. Remember 8.5GB DVD doesn't equal 8.5GB on a hard disk, it's actually around 7.8GB.
