I have a movie file in a .mkv container with Vorbis audio and I am wondering just how to convert the audio to AC3 to enable playback in my PS3.

Hi!
Doesn't your ORIGINAL source material (from which you created the .MKV with Vorbis audio), presumably a DVD, HD-DVD, or BluRay DVD, already contain an .AC3 audiostream that you can simply extract?

My original content stems from recording with my Aiptek HD camera and it was.....geez.....was)my source files were deleted) in .mov with mono sound so I went for dual mono instead and then used nero to make a 5.1 ac3 file and then I wanted to try out making an mkv file with vorbis audio and the problem is I deleted my source files thinking my mkv file with vobis audio was going to play on my ps3 and yes now I fell like Homer Simpson after finding out that the ps3 does not support vorbis. and no way to use mkv2vob to make an mt2ts file.
I just want to play my Aiptek videos and all I need is a hint on how to get back my AC3 sound ) I tried undelete on my usb drive where my source files were but no luck).
I tried emailing Aiptek but no luck on any info for my sound case since the camera only records in mono.

You can use Foobar2000+Aften encoder or BeHappy-AviSynth also with Aften.
BeLight-BeSweet do the job, but with wrong channelmapping.
