I have a Panasonic NV-GS18 (with firmwire) and i tested to capture it from virtualdub and it goes 10fps then i want 25fps
Cant remember the size of the ehm screen.. but is very small, i only want to make my videos to dvd and svcd or something like that. im just wanna know what i need to know and what i can do and such with my camera, And i am very newbie about cameras

firmwire? Do you mean FireWire?

VirtualDub really is the wrong application to transfer (copy) DIgitalVideo to your PC's harddisc.

Use WinDV for this task.

Well, I'd check out what resolution is, and then what a DVD is with resolution and whatnot, and then check out what VCD is in the same way, and then what your camera is capable of, and then decide what your goal is. That's the best way.

Your camera is a Standard Definition DV camera, so its output will be most faithfully reproduced by a DVD. VCD will look noticeably worse, as will YouTube.

winDV (or any video editing suite like Ulead, Pinnacle, Premiere, or Vegas) will copy the video 100% from the tape with no loss in quality. Then you can edit your video, and from there encode a DVD to keep as much quality as possible.
