Anyone know how to do this?
Some Sony discs when put in the PS3 show a screen shot and instead of the disc being labeled BDMV it has the name of the film.
Does anyone know if this is possible to do on home made BDMVs?

Glen8 had described it somewhere. you have to create a meta folder content with an xml file and 2 jpg files of different sizes.
I took it from spiderman 3 and just edit the xml with the film name and exchange the pics when doing a home made blu ray

musicman, any chance you could upload an xml file and explain the exact file structure?

ok, find attached META folder with 2 pics and xml file as example.
rename xml to txt, find the name of the movie and replace it with what you want. then save and rename to xml.
i decided to name the pics 'big' and 'small' , overwrite them with your pics at same resolution as originals.
Place your META in BDMV folder - good luck

Cheers, musicman. Haven't got anything to try it with until tomorrow but i'll post when i've tried it.
Do you know if the "big" jpg can be a larger resolution (1920x1080 or 1280x720) and will the one you've posted (640x360) fill the screen on my PS3 xmb when my PS3 displays at 1080?

I just checked my Almost Famous Blu-Ray which has a thumbnail and i think its only supposed to be a small icon instead of the disc icon, not like PS3 games that have a background image aswell, so i'll stick to what you said. Just burning a disc now, will post results soon.
Edit: Didn't work i'm afraid, used same resolution images and changed title in .xml file. I'm trying this on a DVD-9 which shows up on the PS3 as AVCHD instead of BDMV. I might try editing the .xml where it says BDMV to AVCHD. Any idea if this is the reason and if changing the .xml like i said will work?

sorry - no idea, i am afraid it is try and error at this point - the question is if AVCHD spec allows such picture / META at all - good luck
