Dear Forum,

I'm looking FAVC like program which support multiple AVI and convert them into DVD as simple as FAVC but support CCE,
I'm using the filmMachine now, I'm looking for an alternative.

Thank you.

Yep, I've heard DIKO, but first I thought is was only for KCVD,
but now it's growing well :) I'll try it. Thank you.

I finally have time to test the DIKO,
but the final result is undersize, I use the Quality Base CCE 2.67 SP, I think the DIKO can't predict the "good" value for q factor :(

I'm still using TheFilmMachine since it can predict the q factor
nicely the TFM use D2SRoBa engine :)

I'm testing the ConvertXtoDVD since the rumors says that it's
the fastest one.

May I ask you the reason of your predilection towards CCE? I mean, HCenc has done a *lot* of progress during last releases...

:confused::)

@MrC,

It's just personal taste,
I was using HCEnc for a while but since it's still in the development stage and as it is freeware, I can not push the developer to release the bug fix sooner.

I think HCEnc is great free encoder. I'm looking forward for the stable OPV encoding.

Btw, what can you say about OPV encoding in HCEnc today ? It's that save to use it ? Can it hit the target size perfectly without worry for under/over sized ? Which version do you suggest ?

I'm looking forward for your reply.

PS. For me CCE SP + D2SRoba is prefect, hit target size nicely!

I think ConvertXtoDVD 3.0.0.9 doing the nice and amazing job for me, fast and stable.

The result is quite good (enough) for me, it has the engine for
generating nice menu template with animation very nice and
easy to setup.

It can save the disk space since it can produce the output directly
in VOB format and ready to burn folder. nice!

About OPV (One Pass Variable): some tools (like FAVC 1.06 or AVStoDVD 2.0.0 beta) do a kind of Q factor prediction for HCenc and the result, even if not amazing, is quite near target. Maybe you can take a look at them and let us know your opinions.

About ConvertXtoDVD, you are right, it is a very good all-in-one app. But it is not free. And it does not have the (sometimes quick) support you can have here @Doom9 with free (FAVC) or opensource (AVStoDVD) tools.

:)

Ok, I'll try the HCEnc OPV in the FAVC then and I'll post my result.
Thank you.

Great!

And, if you have more free time, do not forget to test AVStoDVD too (my creature...)

;)
