MeWiki - I need helpp with the MeGUI Guide.

The wiki has 4 guides. The one I followed was

Everything was going smooth until I got to this part:

* On the third page (RC & ME):

* Set keyframe interval to ten times your framerate (which you got from DGIndex). Round up if the number is not an integer (whole number).

* Set min GOP size to your framerate.

ok not to sound dumb but I don't even know what a framerate is. Is that the same a FPS? (fames per second)

Also, this is the VERY first time the guide mentioned anything about DGIndex. How was I suppose to get the framerate from DGIndex when this is the very first time it is mentioned?

ok, the default under RC and ME was:

keyframe interval 250
min GOP size 25

So I left them as the default because I have no idea what DGIndex was or where I was suppose to get the framrate from.

I encoded the mp4, It turned out to be 855mb which was much bigger then specified.

I went to mux it but I got the error:

and won't let me choose a container either.

That's DGIndex under the covers. That's what this is referring to.

There was a muxing bug with MeGUI some time back, but I thought that was fixed. Can you try manually muxing everything using YAMB (it's another tool, search for it.)?

ok, YAMB was able to mux the files. It saved it with a mp4 extension. The file does play in both English and Japanese. The audio is off, the words don't match the lips.

I opened the d2v file in notepad.

Frame_Rate=23976 (24000/1001)

Is this the info I need to calculate my keyframe interval and
min GOP size?

Would this be correct:

keyframe interval 240
min GOP size 23.976

Also, when I encode the video, I put 686 as the Average Bit rate but when it was finished encoding the file was 855mb.

After the audio was mux in it was slightly over a gig. Was that because the keyframe interval and min GOP size was wrong?

Keyframe interval is correct. Min GOP size, round it off to the next integer - 24. GOP size can't be a decimal; MeGUI wouldn't accept a decimal value anyway.

Without knowing how many frames are in the video you are working with it's hard to know if the specified bitrate was applied or not.

As to your syncing issues, it could be many things. When the audio was demuxed was there a number at the end of the tracks specifying a delay value other than 0?

Where can I find how many frames are in the video so I can show you? I'll see if I can find that for you so you can tell me if the specified bitrate was applied.

no, the only number was 0 i.e.

ok, I'll do that guide next. Sometime too much of a good thing can be bad. In this case, it's information. I'm just overwhelmed by just how much of it there is but I'm tough, I'll make it!

EDIT:

I think there are 171816 frames in it. So, was my specified bitrate was applied?
